Specification

A silicone damping fluid within the range of 300,000 to 1,000,000 cSt is typically suitable, depending on the desired descent speed and operating feel.

Function

The damping medium regulates vertical motion of the cueing platform, ensuring a smooth, uniform lowering of the stylus onto the record surface while preventing lateral deviation.

Performance Considerations

Lower viscosity results in a faster descent, while higher viscosity increases resistance and slows movement. Proper selection ensures consistent operation and protects both stylus and record.

Service Notes

Application should be minimal and confined to the damping cylinder. Excess fluid or contamination of adjacent components must be avoided to maintain optimal performance.
